Sports Premium

What is Sports Premium?

All maintained schools receive Sports Premium funding for pupils in Y1 to Y6 to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport on offer to children. At Morley we are using this to:

  • Extend and develop the range of PE and sporting activities on offer and
  • To make improvements to sports facilities and resources that will benefit pupils now and in future years

At Morley we are committed to offering a broad and balanced curriculum which encourages children to develop as independent, motivated and resilient learners. As part of that commitment we want to ensure we do our best to equip children with the knowledge, skills and motivation to lead healthy active lives and offer a range of opportunities which nurture interests and talents and hopefully sow the seeds for lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.

Each year we review our Sports Premium Plan to look specifically at the impact the spending has had on pupils and assess how effective we have been at achieving our goals. We then use this analysis to plan sports premium spending for the following year.

How much does the school receive?

Our sports premium allocation for 2023-24 is £19,500.
