Primary Teacher Job Description and Person Specification

Teaching Assistant – Level 2 –  Reception

Level 2 – 30 hours per week,  permanent to start as soon as possible

Salary Scale 2 5-6 (£21,575 – £21,968) Pro rata – Term-time only. (Actual salary approx £16,600 to £16,950 per annum)

We are seeking to appoint a caring teaching assistant to join our committed, professional and friendly team.  The role will initially be working within our Reception team supporting the learning, social, communication and emotional needs of pupils.  The role will involve supporting children 1:1, in small groups and will contribute to raising standards of achievement for all pupils. 

We would be particularly interested in hearing from applicants who:

  • have experience in or a desire to work in Early Years/KS1  and/or
  • have experience of successfully supporting children with  communication and interaction needs (including ASD) or a desire to do so and/or
  • have experience of successfully  supporting children with learning difficulties or a desire to do so and/or
  • have experience of successfully supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs or a desire to do so
  • have a good rapport with children and are able to engage them in learning
  • have high expectations for pupils’ work and behaviour
  • are able to promote the aims and values of the school
  • are able to work flexibly as part of a team with drive and passion to ensure that all children achieve

Caretaker (20 hours per week, flexible, Mon -Fri, 52 weeks per year

Salary scale NJC points 7-9 (currently £11.59-£12.02 per hour)

We are seeking to appoint a Caretaker to assist the Site Manager in ensuring that the premises and grounds of the school are maintained to the highest possible level of cleanliness and are attractive in appearance at all times.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in assisting the Site Manager with the efficient running of the school and to contribute to the school’s exciting future plans.

Morley Memorial Primary School have Playwork vacancies for qualified and unqualified individuals to join our committed and enthusiastic ‘Spectrum’ team. Spectrum provides high quality play-based childcare. Our provision is open as follows:

  • 7.30-8.45 (Monday – Friday term-time) “Breakfast Club”
  • 3.00-6.00 (Monday – Friday term-time) “After-School Club”
  • 8.00-6.00 (Monday – Friday during school holidays) “Holiday Club”

With afternoon vacancies from, we’re looking for new members to join our team of staff to provide a play-based childcare provision for children. Spectrum is a fun and busy club, where the children feel at home to play as they choose in a welcoming and stimulating environment. Applicants should be enthusiastic, patient, conscientious, reliable and aware of their duty of care to the children in the setting. Flexibility and teamwork skills are obviously crucial, as is a sense of enthusiasm and the desire to play. Successful applicants will be expected to adhere to all policies and procedures of the setting and undertake appropriate training to compliment any existing qualifications and experience. *there is scope for additional hours at breakfast club, during school lunchtimes (11.45-1.00) and casual hours during school holidays. Hours are open to negotiation but letters of application should indicate availability.
