Part-time Playworker

Playworker Required for Spectrum Out of School Hours Provision

Part-time (afternoon hours in the first instance)
Scale 1 (point 10-12) £8.09 – £8.36 per hour

We have Playwork vacancies for September 2017, and we’re looking for new members to join our team of staff to provide a play-based childcare provision for children in Breakfast, After-School Club and Holiday Clubs (Spectrum). Based at Morley Memorial Primary School Spectrum is a fun and busy club, where the children feel at home in a welcoming and stimulating environment. Breakfast Club provision runs from 0730-0845 and After-School Club from 1500-1800 Monday to Friday during term-time. Optional casual hours are available between 0800-1800 in school holidays and teacher training days.

We currently have vacancies for afternoon hours however there is scope for additional hours at breakfast club, during school lunchtimes and holidays. Hours are open to negotiation but letters of application should indicate availability.

Applicants should be enthusiastic, patient, conscientious and aware of their duty of care to the children in the setting. Flexibility and teamwork skills are obviously crucial, as is a sense of ebullience and the desire to play. Successful applicants will be expected to adhere to all policies and procedures of the setting and undertake appropriate training to compliment any existing qualifications and experience.

Teaching Assistant – Level 2
Full-time: 32.5 hours per week
Permanent position (subject to a successful probationary period)

We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic teaching assistants to join our committed and friendly team.  One role will initially involve working across our Early Years (Reception) unit to ensure that the needs of the whole class and cohort are met including children who have additional learning and behaviour needs.  The other in KS1 or KS2.
Applicants should:
• have a good rapport with children and be able to engage them in learning
• be able to work flexibly as part of a team with drive and passion to ensure that all children achieve
• be willing and able to share good practice and learn from others
Previous experience of working with children with a range of special educational needs or experience working within Early Years would be desirable but not essential.

Morley Memorial Primary School is looking to appoint a clerk to the governing body.

    • Hours: 3.5 hours a week
    • Salary: £19,742pa pro rata (£10.23 per hour)

The role of the clerk to governors is to:

    • provide advice to the governing body on governance, constitutional and procedural matters
    • provide effective administration of governor meetings and other governance matters
    • manage information for the governing body in accordance with legal requirements

The successful candidate will have excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication skills. They will need to be pro-active about taking the initiative and will need to be exceptionally well organised. They should have a flexible approach to working hours and be committed to their own professional development.
